Excelerated Performance Broadens Social Media Reach, Attends Mashable's Social Good Conference

Cranbury, NJ (August 28, 2009)

Excelerated Performance, LLC – a full-service website development and online marketing agency – attended this past summer, the Mashable Social Good Conference, a one-day educational event celebrating the finale of the Summer of Social Good charitable campaign. To further broaden their expertise in social media and its ever-growing relationship with fundraising, Excelerated Performance associates sought the opportunity to brush up on their social media etiquette and become more fundraising savvy.

Excelerated Performance's Tess Marino sat down with Tracey Udas to get her take on the event.

Tess: First impressions?
Tracey: We were not in Kansas anymore. I mean, I expected this, and have seen it before, but there was no denying that we were at a Social Media conference. Most of the attendees were probably my age (25-35ish), and there were approximately, I'd say, 10 people who were NOT on their laptops, notebooks, or tweeting from their phones throughout the entire presentation. I felt very “in my element” [laughing].

Tess: Who did you meet?
Tracey: Who didn't I meet is the better question. I didn't get to meet Pete Cashmore or Shira Lazar which is just sad.

Tess: Okay, so who did you meet?
Tracey: I met some of the contributors from Mashable and lot of other people that I am hoping we [Excelerated Performance] will connect with on future client projects. There are so many creative minds out there, and I am constantly in awe of what people are doing with social media. Plus, it was nice to hear what other professionals thought of our work with MyAutoTexPINK.com and Impact Oasis – all comments were good [laughing].

Tess: Any stand-out presentations?
Tracey: Well, Beth Kanter (@kanter) is always great to listen to, but I really enjoyed the presentation by Earth Hour (@earthhour). I thought that the video really captivated the importance of their mission and showed the power of what social media can do – the millions of people that can be reached and how they can unite through social media for a common goal. And I also really enjoyed when Adam Hirsch proposed to his girlfriend if that counts!

Tess: Any interesting tips you learned?
Tracey: Tons.

Tess: So overall, what did you think?
Tracey: The whole conference was very informational, but in a casual, friendly atmosphere. It was inspiring to know that you were sitting amongst some of the most intelligent folks in the Social Media industry like Randi [Zuckerbeg], Adam Hirsch and Shira – who I love!
